Design Details

The installation consisted of 50 two-meter-tall rotating prisms made from laminated polycarbonate panels coated with 3M Dichroic Film, including “Chill” and “Blaze” variants. This specialized film refracted light into a vibrant spectrum of colors, creating dynamic, kaleidoscopic visuals by day and a radiant glow at night when illuminated with both warm and cool tones reflecting all environmental lights in different shades. The prisms’ ability to rotate, combined with custom soundscapes, provided visitors with an immersive, sensory-rich experience. This polychromatic effect made the installation truly unique, leaving a lasting impression on viewers and contributing to its award-winning success.

Collaboration and Impact

To address the challenge of transforming a conceptual art idea into a tangible, visually captivating installation, RAW Design partnered with Convenience Group to find the perfect solution. The question at the heart of the project how to create prisms that embody dynamic color, light, and movement—required a material that could reflect the interplay between art and innovation.

Convenience Group’s team of professionals identified 3M Dichroic Film as the ideal material, offering its unique ability to refract light into stunning multicolored displays. This film’s versatility and durability enabled RAW Design to realize their artistic vision, seamlessly combining form, function, and aesthetics. By tailoring the solution to the project’s creative and technical needs, we ensured that Prismatica not only brought art to life but also captivated audiences, making it a masterpiece of interactive public art.
